In 2020, I helped design the data-dense flagship reconcile tool that enabled accountants to create a checklist for month-end close activities. The initial design has stayed consistent to the present. The application utilizes icons for quick visual recognition, chips for flexible status and action buttons, and pop-ups for data entry.

Reconcile dashboard

The side bar tool has evolved massively over the past few years, I the actionable items are all on the top right to stay near mouse location when the drawer is opened, the visualization and account details are in close proximity to the right, and the scrollable list is at the bottom. Users can toggle between drill down views with the arrows at the top right corner as well.

Expanded side panel

The master Numeric dashboard is optimized for accounting team leaders to have seamless visibility into the task progression of their team. The most important content is at the top left (does not scroll and pushed data visualization down), master actions and status on the top right card, and progress meter (users sorted by recency of action) on the second right card.

Close overview and progress indicators

In certain cases, updates made on current months can impact the work done on previous close periods. Using chips on the month close popover is one unobtrusive yet clear way we notify the user of these changes.
