Our previous mobile designs were created by a series of contractors. There was a lack of consistency and the existing "design library" was closer to a style guide in terms of depth.

Example of organism level component "people select" I created as part of expanded system

Our old activity feed UI used UI elements that were unnecessary linked to the web experience. Creating mobile first elements allowed me to modernize the look and feel of the application.

Our old send recognition form had a lot of issues with grouping, path to completion, inconsistent inputs, and unnecessary steps.

Pages from the previous send recognition form design without a path to completion

I tested four forms patterns before settling on a single page scroll + input drawer pattern that both improved the UX for writing a recognition, and could be used as a template for other parts of the app.

Updated send recognition form with a clear path to completion and better visual consistency

Since our platform is about sharing positivity, our customers are always asking for more ways to make their Recognitions more special and interactive. Adding a little icon bounce with a squiggle confetti animation was an easy way to add a fun interaction to our High Five button (similar to a like).
