During my second year at WorkTango I led a change in product research practices. Here is the what, the why, and the how.

The existing research framework was too complex and had too many bottlenecks to be effective at a start-up.

By leading product sessions and creating templates, I was able to empower the product team to make use of existing data that had not been leveraged previously.

There was a lot of user selection bias that occurred due to the convenience of contacting certain individuals. By providing custoer usage dashboards to product owners I was able to start a pattern of targeting the correct users for research.

I also created a confluence space dedicated to sharing insights and providing templates for user interviews, which enabled the team to work in a unified manner rather than sharing differently formatted documents via direct messages.
